Our Shorts Showcases are a chance to celebrate film all year round — not just during the 48 weekend!

These events are open submission, welcoming short films from all filmmakers, whether or not you’ve taken part in the 48 before. We partner with local film organisations across Scotland to bring these screenings to different cities and towns, creating exciting opportunities to see fresh Scottish talent on the big screen.

Each showcase is more than just a screening — it’s a fun, informal networking night where filmmakers, film fans, and local creatives can meet, share ideas, and spark future collaborations. With a mix of genres, styles, and voices, no two showcases are ever the same.
So whether you’re submitting your short, supporting a friend’s film, or just coming along for the buzz, the Shorts Showcases are a brilliant way to connect with Scotland’s filmmaking community.
